Making your own percussion loops can bring that extra something to your tracks, so I thought I’d start of the day by telling you about this little gem that a mate told me about. Darbuka – Nut by Volka Audio is a free VST/AU/RTAS plugin for both Mac OS X and Windows. Darbuka means goblet drum, and it’s a popular percussion piece played all over the Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe (you will know the sound as soon as you hear it). The plugins comes with a sound collection of 300MB, with a total of 11 articulations (C1 to F2). You can build you own rhythms or use the included 27 percussion grooves. the grooves can be played inside Darbuka – Nut or you copy the MIDI file to your DAW.
Ease of use, great sounds and to top it off free, this is another one that should be added to your plugin folder straight away!!
